Join Melbourne Chamber Orchestra for an enchanting evening of string music that journeys across centuries and styles. The program opens with From Anna Magdalena’s Notebook by Elena Kats-Chernin, a vivid reimagining of Baroque fragments from Bach’s family collection, infused with the composer’s distinctive lyrical voice.

Emma Sullivan, MCO’s principal double bass, brings grace and gravitas to Henry Eccles’ Sonata in G Minor, a cornerstone of the instrument’s repertoire, blending Baroque elegance with emotional depth.

The concert continues with Edward Elgar’s Serenade for Strings, a tender and nostalgic work that reveals the English master’s gift for melody and warmth. Finally, the orchestra presents Tchaikovsky’s glorious Serenade for Strings, a sweeping Romantic masterpiece brimming with passion, charm, and dance-like vitality.This program offers a rich tapestry of string music, from intimate reflection to full-hearted exuberance a perfect celebration of classical artistry in the heart of Mildura.
